Two people died and other 14 were injured after a train carrying toxic, flammable chemicals derailed and caused a major fire near the Belgian city of Ghent.
The train was travelling from the Netherlands to Ghent’s seaport when it derailed as it changed tracks between the towns of Schellebelle and Wetteren at about 02.00 a.m.
Six of the train’s 13 cars derailed and three caught fire, setting off a series of explosions.

More than 300 people were evacuated from the area.
Local official Jan Briers said: “Everything is well organized, I think, and right now, there is no reason to increase the safety zone.”
The fire was brought under control later on Saturday morning but residents were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.
The commander of the Ghent fire brigade, Christian van de Voorde, said the best way to limit the spread of toxic chemicals had been to let the fire burn out.

An Australian woman, who was filmed swearing and abusing people on a train in Sydney, got what she deserved when she was thrown off onto her backside by other passengers.
The triumphant moment when her fellow commuters gang up on her and physically move her off the train was caught on camera and has become a hit on YouTube.
The video shows the young blonde spitting, swearing and hitting Sydney commuters until they finally snap and kick her off the train.
The 14-minute clip has already been watched by over 12,000 people.
The commuters initially try to ignore the ranting woman as she spits at them while shouting: “F*** off you c****, come on you little dogs step up!”
After ten minutes of constant abuse a middle-aged man standing nearby attempts to calm her down, but instead the woman starts battering him.

Shortly afterwards some of her victims lose their patience with the young woman and as the train pulls into a station, five of them take action.
They gather her bags and throw them onto the platform, swiftly followed by the woman herself.
After landing on the platform floor on her bottom the woman can be seen sheepishly staring at the vigilante travellers in disbelief who laugh and cheer in triumph.
Eventually as the video ends a security guard at the station escorts the woman away.
The video is becoming a YouTube hit with over 100 views every day.

On Sunday night (August 7) the singer went out for a drink, then left his friends around four o’clock in the morning. Police said several people assaulted him on the street. They cut his face and broke his nose, then run away. Gavin DeGraw rose up and as he was walking, a cab struck him.
He was admitted at Bellevue Hospital, New York, with concussion, broken nose, black eyes and cuts. Next day the rocker was released from the hospital and wrote on Twitter that he could not clearly remember the incident.

Gavin DeGraw had to interrupt the summer tour.
Several days later the artist said to VH1: “Instead of checking in from the tour, I’m writing as I recover at home.[…] I can’t wait to get back out on tour and look forward to seeing you on the road sometime soon.”

He had a swollen face and some fractures in cheekbone, eyes and nose, but two weeks later everything would return to normal, just a mark from stitches on the nose would remain. Almost everything because Gavin said he had a different sensation breathing through his nose and the concussion had caused him memory troubles and dizziness.
“I had a night off, and I met up with some friends at the bar I own with my brother. We had a few drinks. I put my friends in a cab and I walked home because I live pretty close. I remember maybe three guys said something to me and I didn’t appreciate it, and I guess I let them know I didn’t appreciate it. They weren’t exactly on the debate team, so I ended up with a tube down my throat,” Gavin DeGraw said.
He said he had not been drunk, he just had had a few drinks with his friends at the bar he owns[googlead tip=”patrat_mic” aliniat=”dreapta”] with his brother Joey, “The National Underground”, in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Police will analyze the footage of the crossroad (6th Street and First Avenue) where Gavin was beaten and hit by a taxi, but probably it will take a while until the attackers will be found.
Gavin next concerts will take place in Syracuse, Holmdel and Orlando.
In May Gavin DeGraw launched “Not Over You” single and another album, “Sweeter”, is scheduled to be released on September this year.
