Attorney Russell Yankwitt says Friday’s payment brings Stephen Baldwin’s total paid to $300,000. He’s got $100,000 more to go.

Stephen Baldwin, 47, admitted last March that he failed to pay state taxes for 2008, 2009 and 2010.

The total bill in taxes, interest and penalties was $400,000, but Stephen Baldwin paid $100,000 before entering his guilty plea.

Russell Yankwitt says the actor paid the same amount in October.

Under a deal with prosecutors, Stephen Baldwin’s record will be wiped clean if he pays the full amount by April 11. If not, Stephen Baldwin faces five years of probation.

Stephen Baldwin enjoyed some family time with his daughter Hailey as they walked to the After Earth premiere in New York on Wednesday evening.

Despite wearing high heels that made her even taller that her 5’10” father, 17-year-old Hailey Baldwin didn’t seem to mind walking through the Soho neighborhood as he protectively linked her arm.

Once they arrived at the star-studded event, Hailey Baldwin fitted right in on the red carpet in a short graphic print black and white dress, while Stephen Baldwin dressed down in a dark T-shirt and sports coat.

Concerned that it might get cooler as the evening went on, the teenager carried a stylish black leather jacket on her arm along with a neutral clutch purse.

Hailey Baldwin tweeted her excitement about the movie opening that evening, saying: “After Earth premiere later! The getting ready process right now is rough.”

The teen no doubt ditched her father after they arrived to hang out with good friends Kylie Jenner and the film’s young star, Jaden Smith, who she had been out with for lunch earlier that day at Nobu 57.

She was no doubt delighted to rub shoulders with a host of other Hollywood celebrities at the premiere, including Jaden’s father and costar, Will Smith, Bruce Willis, and Justin Bieber.

Hailey Baldwin is the Usual Suspect actor’s youngest daughter with his graphic designer wife, Kennya Baldwin, who he married in 1990.

Such a sentence would require the actor to complete five years under supervision and following certain conditions.

The full repayment would be expected to be made during that probation period.

Stephen Baldwin’s total bill including taxes, interest and penalties is $400,000 but state Supreme Court Justice Charles Apotheker said $100,000 had already been paid.

The star said he never intended to avoid paying taxes and got into trouble by trusting others.

“Unfortunately, I got some really bad suggestions and advice … from lawyers and accountants,” Stephen Baldwin said outside court.

“I just look forward to getting the $300,000 paid in the next year,” he added.

Stephen Baldwin is the youngest brother of the Baldwin acting dynasty which includes Alec, William and Daniel.

Actor Stephen Baldwin was charged on Thursday with failing to pay New York state taxes for three years, amassing a $350,000 debt.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said Stephen Baldwin, of Upper Grandview, skipped his taxes in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

The youngest of the four acting Baldwin brothers pleaded not guilty at an arraignment and was freed without bail. His lawyer, Russell Yankwitt, said Stephen Baldwin should not have been charged.

“Mr. Baldwin did not commit any crimes, and he’s working with the district attorney’s office and the New York State Tax Department to resolve any differences,” Russell Yankwitt said.

The district attorney said Stephen Baldwin could face up to 4 years in prison if convicted. The actor is due back in court on February 5th, 2013.

Thomas Zugibe said Stephen Baldwin owes more than $350,000 in tax and penalties.

“We cannot afford to allow wealthy residents to break the law by cheating on their taxes,” the district attorney said.

“The defendant’s repetitive failure to file returns and pay taxes over a period of several years contributes to the sweeping cutbacks and closures in local government and in our schools.”

Thomas Mattox, the state tax commissioner, said: “It is rare and unfortunate for a personal income tax case to require such strong enforcement measures.”

Stephen Baldwin, 46, starred in 1995’s The Usual Suspects and appeared in 1989’s Born on the Fourth of July. He is scheduled to appear in March on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.

His brothers Alec, William and Daniel Baldwin are also actors.

In October, Stephen Baldwin pleaded guilty in Manhattan to unlicensed driving and was ordered to pay a $75 fine. Earlier this year, he lost a $17 million civil case in New Orleans after claiming that actor Kevin Costner and a business partner duped him in a deal related to the cleanup of the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The actors and others had formed a company that marketed devices that separate oil from water.

Actor Kevin Costner has won a multi-million dollar case brought against him by fellow Hollywood star Stephen Baldwin.

Stephen Baldwin had accused Kevin Costner of cheating him and his business partner in a deal to sell oil clean-up devices to BP after 2010’s Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

A federal jury in Louisiana deliberated for two hours before rejecting Stephen Baldwin’s claim for more than $17 million in damages.

Later Kevin Costner said he was grateful to have been able to clear his name.

“My name means more to me than money and that’s why we didn’t settle,” said Kevin Costner.

He went on to praise the jury for “doing their best to understand everything” in a difficult case.

Stephen Baldwin, along with his business partner Spyridon Contogouris, claimed they would not have sold their shares in Kevin Costner’s company Ocean Therapy Solutions when they did if they had known BP had put down a deposit on buying equipment worth $52 million.

Stephen Baldwin sold his shares for $1.4 million and Spyridon Contogouris sold his for $500,000 in June 2010.

In court, Stpehen Baldwin said he would have held out for more money if he had known about the potential BP deal.

The $17 million in damages Stephen Baldwin and his business partner were claiming was the amount they estimated they would have made from the fulfilled order.

Kevin Costner and his business partner Scott Smith said Stephen Baldwin and spyridon Contogouris knew BP was preparing to give a deposit but still they decided to sell-up.

Kevin Costner said he never saw Stephen Baldwin contribute anything to their company’s efforts to persuade BP to use the centrifuges.

Stephen Baldwin said no one had asked him to invest any capital or lobby BP but said he used his celebrity to market and promote the centrifuges while he also worked on a documentary about the nation’s worst offshore oil spill.

After the verdict Stephen Baldwin asked his attorney James Cobb to speak on his behalf.

“We’re disappointed. We thought we proved rather convincingly that these two guys, Mr. Costner and Mr. Smith, defrauded us,” said James Cobb.

“The jury saw it a different way but we respect the jury’s verdict.”

In June 2010 BP deployed a few of the oil-separating centrifuges it had ordered from Ocean Therapy Solutions.

The company capped the well in the Gulf of Mexico the following month, and it was permanently sealed in September 2010.
