Mariah Carey is one of the most successful artists in music as she had 18 No. 1 hits, sold more than 200 million albums and won five Grammys. Joining her at Wednesday’s unveiling are directors Lee Daniels (who directed her in Precious) and Brett Ratner as well music producer and record executive L.A. Reid and, of course, her kids.
Nick Cannon has paid an emotional tribute to his estranged wife Mariah Carey on Mother’s Day with a heartfelt message to the singer, along with a photo of her with their twins.
He wrote on Instagram: “Gotta represent for the Mother of my children. She is such a wonderful, thoughtful, festive, loving and nurturing Soul.
“I will forever be in debt to you for blessing me and the rest of the world with Roc & Roe. A true #Queen Will love you always @MariahCarey #HappyMothersDay.”
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon filed for divorce in December 2014.
However, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have been increasingly interactive with each other on social media over the last month.
When their kids Moroccan and Monroe turned 4 in April on their sixth wedding anniversary, Nick Cannon posted on Instagram: “Grateful and forever in debt to @MariahCarey for blessing me and the rest of the world with these 2 Angels, Morrocan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon on this day 4 years ago. Happy Birthday!!! I Love yall!”
Just one day before that, Nick Cannon also plugged Mariah Carey’s new album, even though some interpreted her single “Infinity” as a diss towards him. Cannon, however, wrote on Instagram: “#TheQueen #NoHate #HardestWorkingWomanIKnow.”
Nick Cannon has sued Mariah Carey’s business manager Michael Kane for selling the couple’s home without his knowledge, TMZ has reported.
Nick Cannon, 34, has filed a lawsuit against Michael Kane over the sale of his and Mariah Carey’s $9 million Bel Air mansion (the 6-bedroom, 9-bath property was originally listed for $12,995,000 million).
According to legal documents, the America’s Got Talent host claims he was not informed of the house’s sale or of the closing date until February 24, E! News reported.
While he has “no objection” to selling the home, Nickk Cannon alleges his “initial efforts to obtain copies of the Purchase and Sale Agreement and other documents pertinent to the transaction were rebuffed by Kane”.
The documents also claim Nick Cannon “has yet to see the estimated settlement agreement nor has he been provided with any information about required closing costs and loan payoffs, and other planned disbursements from escrow”.
Nick Cannon is seeking a trust be placed on the sale proceeds from the house until proper accounting for distribution of the sales proceeds.
In addition, Nick Cannon is seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Michael Kane from obtaining, disbursing or using any of the funds from escrow of the home.
Nick Cannon filed for divorce from Mariah Carey in January 2015 after six years of marriage.
Nick Cannon has altered the Mariah Carey tattoo on his back.
Nick Cannon, who recently announced he and Mariah Carey secretly separated a few months ago, got his estranged wife’s first name inked across his shoulders in large letters shortly before they tied the knot in 2008.
According to new reports, Nick Cannon recently had the tattoo transformed into an elaborate image of Jesus Christ.

Nick Cannon, who has three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with the 44-year-old singer, debuted his new artwork as he celebrated his upcoming 34th birthday on October 8 with friends, including Amber Rose, at the Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood on October 2.
According to TMZ.com, Nick Cannon’s new tattoo shows Jesus Christ on the cross with angel wings coming off the end the crucifix.
It is not yet known whether Mariah, who got Mrs. Cannon inked on her back before their wedding, plans to change or remove her tattoo.
Nick Cannon announced his split from Mariah Carey in August, saying: “There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is my kids.”
Mariah Carey and Eminem long-running feud continues.
Eminem, now 41, famously claimed that he and Mariah Carey had a relationship after their meeting in 2001.
Mariah Carey’s pointed response on the matter was her 2009 smash Obsessed, which inspired a video that featured herself in male drag as, presumably, Eminem himself.
On the Sunday episode of Watch What Happens Live!, Andy Cohen broached the topic to Mariah Carey during a round of Plead the Fifth by asking her to say three nice things about Eminem.
Mariah Carey and Eminem long-running feud continues
Mariah Carey response was sweetly sarcastic: “They come in a package that you can carry wherever you go. People love them around the world, and they’re tasty. You can have peanut or the regular kind.”
“Oh my god, I love it!” Andy Cohen replied.
Mariah Carey also revealed that she and husband Nick Cannon won’t be adding to their brood ever: “Here’s the thing, I’m responsible for the kids for like forever. They didn’t ask for this lifestyle but here they are.”
Mariah Carey’s Christmas track, All I Want For Christmas Is You, has sold its millionth copy in the UK, 19 years after it was first released.
According to the Official Charts Company, the track crossed the milestone after selling 68,000 copies in 2013.
Mariah Carey wrote: “Thank you to all of my British fans! Love, Mariah.”

The Motown-inspired track peaked at number two when it was first released in 1994 but was kept off the top spot by East 17’s Stay Another Day.
It has since re-entered the chart on a further eight occasions.
Co-written and produced by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff, the track first appeared on the festive album Merry Christmas and has generated an estimated $50 million in royalties worldwide since it was released.
All I Want For Christmas Is You returned to the Official Singles Chart in 2007, since when it has appeared in the top 40 every December.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are leaving American Idol after one season as judges on the talent show.
The announcement comes in the same month as original judge Randy Jackson also left the panel.
Nicki Minaj told her 16 million Twitter followers: “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!”
Mariah Carey’s departure was also announced on Twitter.
Her spokesperson said the singer was now working on a world tour.
Mariah Carey, 43, and Nicki Minaj, 30, joined country singer Keith Urban and Randy Jackson for the show’s 12th season.
It is unclear whether Keith Urban will return for the show’s next series.

Mariah Carey reportedly earned $18 million while Nicki Minaj’s salary was reported to have been $12 million.
American Idol‘s ratings fell to their lowest point in 12 years this series with 14.2 million watching the season finale, which was won by Candice Glover.
Fox, which broadcasts the show, said Mariah Carey was a “true global icon” and that they felt “extremely fortunate” that she was part of the show.
In a joint statement with American Idol‘s production company, FremantleMedia, the network added: “Nicki Minaj is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to American Idol and who had a tremendous positive impact on so many contestants this season.
“Given her extremely busy career, we understand and respect her decision and wish her the best.”
Mariah Carey’s performance on last night’s American Idol finale was so good it had some wondering whether she hadn’t lip-synched the entire thing.
However, Mariah Carey, 43, whose voice has sounded strained in recent years, clearly wasn’t given enough credit.
A rep for Mariah Carey told Entertainment Tonight on Friday that the star sang every song live during her greatest hits medley, which included Hero, My All, Vision of Love, Make It Happen, We Belong Together and her new single #Beautiful.
While Mariah Carey’s fans raved about her performance, many on Twitter wondered whether the pop star hadn’t lip-synched.
“Hahaaa Mariah Carey’s Idol Finale Performance Could Be The Worst Lip Synching Of All Time,” wrote @FSBigBob, while @Joey O’Hern tweeted: “Mariah, you look great…but your lip-synching was off. Good try though!”
Mariah Carey’s rep, however, said not only did she sing live, but she also entertained the audience with additional songs in between live shots.

With former judge Jennifer Lopez scheduled to make a performance comeback later in the show, it was up to Mariah Carey to “really make the show her own”, as they often tell the contestants.
Mariah Carey stood tall in an astonishingly decadent fishtail dress replete with crystals, maribou feathers and was herself dripping in jewels.
Realizing perhaps that dancing isn’t her strongest point, Mariah Carey dispensed with any gimmicks and just stood still save for a few hand moments as she slammed straight into her incredible back catalogue.
She stormed through a seven-minute medley of some of her biggest hits, including Vision of Love, Make it Happen and Hero, before ending with #Beautiful.
The last of those songs debuted at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week as Mariah Carey’s 45th entry on the chart to date.
It was classic Mariah Carey, and though some critics slammed her on Twitter for appearing to lip sync, her fans seemed generally happy with the treasure trove of powerful ditties.
Mariah Carey had a secret weapon in the form of Randy Jackson.
Her fellow judge stepped forward at the end of the song and bashfully accepted the applause still rattling away for Mariah Carey’s crowd pleasing melange.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renewed their wedding vows by shutting down Disneyland in Anaheim, California, to walk down the aisle for a fifth time in a lavish fairytale-themed ceremony.
Mariah Carey, 43, was transformed into a princess for her special evening, arriving in front of the iconic Magic Kingdom castle in a horse-drawn pumpkin-shaped carriage that wouldn’t have looked out of place in a scene from Cinderella.
Having the opportunity to wear yet another wedding gown, the singer donned a typically over-the-top corseted ivory dress, featuring a dramatic ruffle detail skirt and train.
Wearing her hair swept up into a half beehive, Mariah Carey adorned her head with a glittering diamond tiara, which she teamed with matching earrings and a sparkling necklace.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renewed their wedding vows by shutting down Disneyland in Anaheim
Posting a series of short videos on her Vine page, Mariah Carey could be seen getting ready for her fifth big day alongside her 2-year-old daughter Monroe.
Monroe wore a princess-inspired white gown, which would have no doubt made her the absolute envy of the playground.
Instead of the glittering diamond headpiece her mother was wearing, Monroe had white ribbons in her hair as she joined in the celebrations.
Poking fun at her “diva” reputation, Mariah wrote on her Twitter page: “Slowly making our way to the freezing cold guests #donthatemebecauseimadiva #cinderella.”
Before later adding alongside a video of her and Monroe: “Mommy and princess Monroe.”
Mariah Carey and little Monroe were then seen making their way to the Disneyland ceremony in a giant pumpkin-shaped carriage pulled by two white horses as the visibly emotional star wiped away the tears from her eyes.
She tweeted: “On our way to renew our vows. I love you @NickCannon shut down Disneyland KKLB.”
Nick Cannon – dressed as Cinderella’s Prince Charming – only appeared in the selection of videos very briefly, and was seen holding hands with the couple’s son Moroccan, who was dressed in a mini white tuxedo, as the carriage carrying Mariah and Monroe pulled up.
The picture-perfect family then made their way down the aisle in front of a selection of close friends and relatives as the couple toasted their fifth wedding anniversary in dramatic style.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon raised eyebrows when they tied the knot on April 30, 2008, at the singer’s private estate in the Bahamas after just six weeks of dating.
Since then, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have renewed their vows in a variety of locations, including Las Vegas, the hospital bed after she gave birth to the twins and most recently, Paris.
Mariah Carey shared a series of intimate snaps of herself joined by her daughter Monroe for a stroll down a stone walkway in complementary pink dresses.
Monroe, 23-month-old, joined Mariah Carey as the singer left for a taping of American Idol on Thursday afternoon.
Mariah Carey, 43, showed off a set of toned legs in a salmon mini dress with a fluttered hem, a khaki trench coat and metallic heeled sandals.
Monroe, 23-month-old, joined Mariah Carey as the singer left for a taping of American Idol
Monroe matched mum in a pink floral frock worn over a pair of blue jeans and accessorized with trainers, a hair bow and glasses in the same shade of pale bubblegum.
Mariah Carey wrote of her photogenic daughter: “Ms. Monroe walking me out #divaintraining.”
The singer added: “Hate leaving dembabies, be back soon!!!”
Earlier this year, Mariah Carey told Barbara Walters of her daughter: “I call her Miss Monroe, and that kind of dictated her personality. She’s a total diva. She’s into jewelry. She’s fascinated by jewelry.”
Later, the singer posted a photograph of herself reclining against a shelf, captioning it: “Off to mix my new single. #music=life (that’s not the song title ha ha).”
Though reportedly in the studio, Mariah Carey has not released an album since 2010.
Mariah Carey told Billboard of her latest effort: “It’s about making sure I have tons of good music, because at the end of the day, that’s the most important thing.
“Wherever we go with this project, I’ve tried to keep the soul and heart in it, with me obviously as the through-line.”
Nicki Minaj has threatened to quit American Idol on live TV during Thursday’s edition.
Nicki Minaj was furious to learn that her favorite contestant Curtis Finch Jr. – who at one point was being tipped as a possible winner – had landed in the bottom two of the Top 10.
Curtis Finch Jr. and Devin Velez received the fewest votes from viewers.
And when she discovered that the 24-year-old from St Louis, Missouri might be out, Nicki Minaj said she would quit the show.
“I definitely think Curtis should not be in the bottom two. I mean, I love Devin but I think that Curtis, if you look at every one of his performances, I mean – come on, America, are you kidding me?” she said.
“I didn’t think that your performance last night was your best, I think it was your worst.”
“Curtis, if you go home, I go home,” the singer said.
Fellow judge Keith Urban agreed in part, saying he was “a little shocked”.
But Nicki Minaj’s fears were realized after it was revealed that Curtis Finch Jr. actually got the fewest votes of all the contestants.
The revelation caused Nicki Minaj to jump out of her seat and approach the stage, only to seemingly be advised to return to the judge’s panel by Randy Jackson, who could be seen shaking his head, and beckoning her back.
Nicki Minaj was furious to learn that her favorite American Idol contestant Curtis Finch Jr. had landed in the bottom two of the Top 10
Curtis Finch Jr. was then able to sing one last time to save himself – but only if all four judges agreed unanimously to keep him on.They didn’t – and he was kicked off the Fox show.
Curtis Finch Jr. gave a heartfelt and emotional performance of R Kelly’s I Believe I Can Fly, showing off his impressive vocal range.
He previously sang the song on the show to get him into the top 10.
Nicki Minaj looked like she was sulking as Randy Jackson and Keith Urban had an intense discussion on either side of her, while Mariah Carey concentrated on his make or break performance, that saw the audience go wild.
“The judges have got to be unanimous,” said Ryan Seacrest, who explained that they can “save” only one contestant once throughout the season.
“Save, save, save,” chanted the crowd.
“I’m completely shocked that this is where we’re at,” said Mariah Carey.
“This entire situation has been about Curtis, in a lot of ways, for me. We have had a connection. We still do, no matter what happens.”
“We are not unanimous, unfortunately,” Randy Jackson revealed, as some of the audience members began to boo.
The previous night Nicki Minaj had missed Curtis Finch Jr.’s singing because she was late to the live show in Hollywood, blaming bad traffic.
The show claimed over 26 million votes had been cast. But producers changed up the usual format by first revealing who was in the top three, but not what order they came in.
It was good news for Candice, Kree and Angie.
In fourth place was Lazaro Arbos. Amber Holcomb came fifth, while Janelle Arthur came in sixth place.
Burnell Taylor came in seventh place, followed by Paul Jolley.
Nicki Minaj has opened up on Jimmy Kimmel show about her reported American Idol feud with Mariah Carey.
The singers have been at loggerheads ever since they first started working together on American Idol.
Nicki Minaj wore a garish trouser suit for her appearance on the show, which Jimmy Kimmel immediately commented on.
“Where do you get stuff like this? Do you have to make it?”
“No! It’s Roberto Cavalli, you can buy it in stores,” she said.
Jimmy Kimmel went on to praise her judging skills on the talent show, saying that she seems solid and reasonable, which is the opposite of her public persona.
“A lot of people don’t like their co-workers at their offices, but your office is on television and so when you have skirmishes everyone sees them. And clearly, you and Mariah Carey do not like each other,” Jimmy Kimmel probed.

“I wouldn’t say I don’t like her, I definitely don’t think she likes me,” Nicki Minaj replied, adding that despite this, she makes a fair bit of effort to be friendly.
“I try, as I looked up to her for a long time, so I don’t want to hate on this lady, but she had an issue from the beginning. We’re having fun though.
“I genuinely like going there, even Mariah and I, we really do have fun.”
But while she might be making waves on reality TV, Nicki Minaj was there to do what she does best – perform.
Nicki Minaj took to a special outdoor stage to perform Va Va Voom and Freedom in front of an overexcited audience.
Writhing and singing to the music of a live band, Nicki Minaj added a jaunty leopard print hat to her already clashing outfit.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have revealed that their cat fighting on American Idol isn’t an act – and their latest public snipe-fest is proof.
The judges of the hit singing show were at a press conference for the Television Critics Association Winter Tour on Tuesday morning and while things started out pleasantly enough with the two stars complementing each other, the atmosphere soon soured.
When asked if their sparring was real or merely a ploy to generate more buzz about the show, Mariah Carey, said: “It’s a passionate panel. The fight is what it is.”
According to the blog Vulture.com, a journalist then asked the warring women to say something nice about each other.
Nicki Minaj, 30, went first and said: “I say nice things about Mariah all the time. She is one of my favorite artists of all time.
“To be on a panel with her, it’s kind of crazy. All the singers come in aspiring to be Mariah, in terms of talent and in terms of career length.”
Mariah Carey apparently “flinched” before replying: “That was a very sweet thing to say.
“We did a song that was from my album and it was called, ironically, Up Out My Face. It was one of my favorite songs.”
Mariah Carey added: “And I did feel like she was going to go very far and still have that feeling. I am grateful for anything nice that she or anyone has to say.”
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have revealed that their cat fighting on American Idol isn’t an act, and their latest public snipe-fest is proof
The stars both agreed that their fighting – most sensationally seen on leaked footage from an audition last October – “distracts” from the show so they decided to put in behind them.
However, it wasn’t long before the simmering animosity between the two resurfaced.
“It was sort of a one-sided thing,” Mariah Carey said.
“No, it wasn’t!” Nicki Minaj snapped back.
“See? They don’t want a rising star, they want drama.”
Throughout the rest of the press conference the pair rolled their eyes at each other’s comments, sneered or just stared daggers at each other.
Separated by the other judges, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson who tried to keep the peace, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey also seemed to be competing in the style and cleavage displaying stakes too.
Both were pouring out of their dresses – Mariah Carey opted for a strapless, emerald green mini dress with strappy Louboutins while Nicki Minaj wore a short gold, grey and white number.
The Make Me Proud singer also sported skyscraper Louboutins and both went for big, voluminous hair and fierce jewellery.
And to make things even more awkward, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj each said they neither of them would ever have entered a reality singing contest at the start of their careers.
Meanwhile, Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy shared a bromantic kiss during the TCA panel for their new show The Following.
Mariah Carey seems to have a higher appreciation for the merry season now that she can share the cheer – and her lavish lifestyle – with husband Nick Cannon and their 20-month-old fraternal twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
Mariah Carey, 42, posted numerous candid snaps of Monroe and Moroccan, affectionately known as “Dem Babies”, enjoying their Aspen holiday Wednesday.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Carey-Cannons!! Pictures from our most festive Christmas yet,” Mariah Carey tweeted to her 8.4 million followers.
The notorious diva and the America’s Got Talent host – dressed as Santa – looked ecstatically happy as they snuggled their toddlers before the Christmas tree littered with gifts at their tastefully rustic cabin in the wintry mountain town.
Nick Cannon, 32, clearly loves to lift his little girl in the air as he is seen doing so in two of the pictures, one of which reveals several opened presents under the Douglas Fir.
Among the numerous items visible on the floor were two luggage trollies, an Etch-A-Sketch, and a toy truck.
At their lavish black-tie birthday party earlier this year, the tots were gifted a toy Ferrari, rocking horse, and miniature white piano while celebrating at the Plaza Athenee in Paris.

The two privileged tykes are often seen in designer duds playing on their parents’ grand piano, 1,000-thread count sheets, or taking a dip in their marble-tiled swimming pool.
Mariah Carey, whose net worth was estimated at more than $500 million last year, spares no expense when it comes to spoiling her brood.
However, most of the recent holiday pictures show the family indulging in mostly ordinary, wholesome holiday fun.
In several shots, the entire grinning clan is bundled up in fur-lined snowsuits enjoying a cuddle puddle on the snowy ground.
And while Mariah Carey accented her suit with a Louis Vuitton scarf and Nick Cannon wore a playful Scoobie Doo beanie – Roc and ‘Roe accessorized their suits with matching teddy bear scarves.
The twins could not hide their delight as they sat together in a red sled, and in one shot little Moroccan considerately pulled his sis along behind him.
The girly-girl made sure to matcher her soft pink snowsuit with her glasses frames.
Moroccan looked super-cute with a green star decoration stuck on his forehead and in another shot his famous parents propped him up behind the driver’s seat of a car.
Monroe also got glamorous in a classic red puffed-sleeve holiday dress with Peter Pan collar, matching pigtail bows, and white ruffled socks with black patent leather Mary Janes.
But in most of the shots the children are dressed for bed, with the boy comfortably splayed out on a bed in blue footie pajamas covered in woodland critters.
While Monroe was seen in green polka-dot PJs as she gave a stuffed reindeer decoration an affectionate hug.
Mariah Carey was last seen on Christmas Eve wearing a too-tight green leather jacket and high-heeled platform boots for one final shopping spree, while her husband and kids stayed at home playing Connect 4.
She will soon return to the set of the 12th season of American Idol, which premieres January 16, alongside judges Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.
Mariah Carey is also working on her new album, due out in March.
Nick Cannon revealed wife Mariah Carey always tries to get out of changing their toddlers’ nappies.
The funnyman says Mariah Carey usually finds a way to make sure he is the one left holding the dirty diapers after 18-month old twins Monroe and Moroccan.
Speaking on Anderson Live, Nick Cannon, 31, told the show’s host: “It’s a good time! Right now, the kids run the house. We are just running and chasing after them and then my wife is being the diva that she is. I am trying to keep up with them.”
When the newsman asked if the Glitter favorite was “a big diaper changer” and “who changes the most?” Nick Cannon’s response was perhaps no surprise.
He gave a hearty laugh as he said: “Me,” raising incredulous guffaws from Anderson.
The America’s Got Talent host added: “I mean we all do it but for some reason I get that duty a little bit more.
“I am not scared of it. I go in, I put the gloves on. Real men change diapers!”
Nick Cannon revealed wife Mariah Carey always tries to get out of changing their toddlers’ nappies
While Anderson did not look too keen on the idea, his co-host Jane Velez-Mitchell gave a supportive grin.
Later the radio host spoke about of his wife’s reported feud with fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj.
He said: “Think it was what it was. A lot of theatrics and stuff.
“I guess I was a little disappointed in the producers because that’s not what American Idol is about.
“I felt like they fed off of it a little bit. You know, people are always going to have disagreements and stuff.
“Clearly you can see that they are a very intense judging panel but obviously everybody is interested in what the show is going to be about and my wife is the classiest and the strongest woman that I’ve ever met so she’s handling it the way she is supposed to handle it.”
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj catfight reached boiling point when Nicki was caught on camera hurling a torrent of abuse at fellow American Idol judge Mariah.
And, with Mariah Carey said to be in fear of her safety on the show, it has emerged that Nicki Minaj was “supremely disrespectful” to Mariah two years before she exploded on the Idol set earlier this week.
According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj was allegedly “rude” to Mariah Carey on the set of the music video Up Out My Face back in 2010.
The video shows Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj happily performing the song together, dressed in identical nurses outfits and red dresses, giggling away and drinking champagne.
But it was a different story off set, according to TMZ, with B. Scott, who appeared alongside Mariah Carey in the video, alleging that: “Nicki was making faces at her [Mariah] laced with rude comments under her breath.
“Mariah went out of her way to be nice to Nicki and make her comfortable,” B. Scott added, with the website reporting that Mariah Carey felt like she was helping launch Nicki Minaj’s career by appearing in the video.”
TMZ claims B. Scott told Mariah Carey what was going on with the Super Bass singer, but says: “Mariah decided not to confront Nicki and acted as if nothing had happened.”
However, a source close to Nicki Minaj said: “Scott works as Mariah’s stunt double and of course he would say things like that. He’s worked for her for years.”
Meanwhile, B. Scott told the website that he stays in touch with Mariah Carey and spoke with her on Thursday night.
He said that Mariah Carey “wants to bury the hatchet with Nicki on American Idol and focus on the contestants”.
Meanwhile, former American Idol judge Steven Tyler seemed a little skeptical about the row when a TMZ cameraman caught him outside an LA restaurant last night and asked him if the Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj feud was “bs”.
“Of course, are you kidding?” he replied.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Mariah Carey was keen to hire extra security after Nicki Minaj apparently threatened to shoot her.
The singer arrived for American Idol auditions in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday with a police escort, several bodyguards and minders in tow.
The 42-year-old, who is a new judge on the panel alongside the rapper, country singer Keith Urban and veteran Randy Jackson, lived up to her diva reputation as she strutted in for her day on set in Baton Rouge.
One burly bodyguard helped her keep her balance by holding onto her arm while another had the rather important task of shielding her from the sun with an umbrella.
She appeared rather uptight over the recent feud, constantly looking over her shoulder with a worried expression on her face.
Nicki Minaj is said to have threatened Mariah Carey after her American Idol co-star called her a “b****” – it is now being claimed.
Show bosses cancelled filming in Charlotte, North Carolina for the day on Tuesday after a huge blow up between the pair where Nicki Minaj allegedly threatened and swore at Mariah Carey.
But witnesses insist Mariah Carey started it, according to reports.
A source told Mouthtoears.com: “Nicki Minaj walked off of set because Mariah Carey kept making jabs at her.
“Nicki’s manager and team convinced her to come back to the show. Mariah kept at it and called Nicki <<a b****>> and then proceeded to cuss her out. Producers had to stop filming and call it a night.”
It was previously reported how Nicki Minaj fumed she was sick of her co-judge, labelling Mariah Carey her “f*****g highness”.
Their fellow panelists Keith Urban and Randy Jackson were caught in the middle of the row, according to TMZ, which is running a video of the row, where Nicki Minaj can be heard ranting at Mariah Carey.
A source told the website: “[Nicki said to Mariah] <<I’m gonna knock you out>> – although this was not caught on tape.”
In the video being run by TMZ, Nicki Minaj can be heard saying: “I told them I’m not f*****g putting up with her f*****g highness over there [Referring to Mariah]. Figure it the f*** out. Figure it out.”
Mariah Carey can also be heard answering back in the video – but it is difficult to make out exactly what she is saying.
The row is said to have started due to a disagreement over a contestant’s performance.
As he headed to bed on Tuesday night, host Ryan Seacrest wrote on Twitter: “Going to bed in Charlotte after an anything but dull day at #idol auditions. Hit u in morn.”
Producers are now said to be concerned about how the pair will manage to work together for the rest of the season, TMZ reports.
Mariah Carey was said to be unhappy with Nicki Minaj joining American Idol because she was worried it would turn the reality TV programme into a “freak show”.
A source previously told Hollywoodlife: “Nicki isn’t established enough to qualify as a judge.
“Mariah wants a panel of bright, inspirational and constructive judges. Not some freak show!
“Mariah thinks Nicki will just be a distraction and it will all be about her and her outrageous behavior. Mariah will not be happy if Nicki joins the panel and she has let the producers know just how she feels!”
While Mariah Carey has 22 years experience in the industry, relative newcomer Nicki Minaj only leaped to fame two years ago.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have apparently not been getting along since auditions first started in New York last month.
During their first taping of the talent reality show the pair were said to have talked over one other in a bid to be the most vocal judge.
The drama began when 29-year-old Super Bass singer Nicki Minaj starting critiquing a contestant, but despite it being her moment to reign, Mariah Carey, 42, couldn’t resist butting in on several occasions.
But according to TMZ, each time the Dreamlover star intervened, feisty Nicki Minaj just spoke louder.
A source said at the time: “These girls just don’t like each other.”
Following the first day of shenanigans in New York, a fan tweeted Nicki Minaj to ask how the judging had gone, to which she cryptically responded: “It was… interesting… “
Mariah Carey and her husband of four years Nick Cannon offered a candid glimpse into their home life with their fraternal twins, as they posted a series of snaps on the youngsters’ official website.
In the intimate pictures spanning six months, Moroccan and Monroe are seen flaunting their designer duds on a balcony, splashing in the posh pool, and getting snuggles from their doting parents.
In one amusing shot, little ‘Roc is seen covering his face while clad in Ralph Lauren, and little ‘Roe struts along in her diva shades and cute red dress featuring butterflies – her famous mother’s favorite insect.

At their lavish black-tie birthday party earlier this year, the tots were gifted a toy Ferrari, rocking horse, and miniature white piano while celebrating at the Plaza Athenee in Paris.
Mariah Carey also reportedly spent millions of dollars creating a luxurious nursery for her little ones, including Chelsea Sleigh cribs, Clara changing table, 24-carat gold and onyx sofa, diamond-encrusted iPods, and a flatscreen TV that comes down from the ceiling.
Mariah Carey and her 31-year-old presenter husband were inspired to name their son Moroccan after Nick Cannon proposed to her in a Moroccan-style room.
