George Clooney has arrived in Edinburgh to visit Social Bite cafeteria which helps homeless people.
The Hollywood star is visiting the Social Bite cafe, which donates all its profits to homeless people.
Heather McGowan, 32, from Glasgow, won a competition to meet George Clooney for lunch held at a secret location.
George Clooney will then speak at the Scottish Business Awards at Edinburgh’s international conference center.
The actor will speak in front of a sold-out 2,000-strong audience.
Josh Littlejohn, founder of Social Bite and the Scottish Business Awards, said: “The staff are unbelievably excited about George’s visit. He’s one of the most famous people on the planet and we are looking forward to introducing him to the Social Bite concept.”
Social Bite cafe operates a “suspended” coffee and food program where customers can pay for a hot drink or food for a homeless person.
Last month, it launched what is thought to be the first “selfless” loyalty card, which lets customers feed the homeless. It works by accruing loyalty points to enable the purchase of a free meal and hot drink for a homeless person by customers who have made 10 visits to the cafe.
A quarter of its workforce in the five Social Bite stores across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen is formerly homeless.
All proceeds from the business awards event, hosted by comedian Rob Brydon, will go towards a range of charities including the Social Bite Fund and Not On Our Watch – a humanitarian charity co-founded by George Clooney with Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and others.
Stephen Colbert has made his debut as CBS’ Late Show host, succeeding David Letterman who retired in May after 33 years.
George Clooney and Republican White House contender Jeb Bush were among Stephen Colbert’s first guests.
The former Colbert Report host opened the show with a sketch, singing the national anthem around the country.
Stephen Colbert also paid tribute to his predecessor David Letterman, calling himself “a fan”.
“We will try to honor his achievement by doing the best show we can and occasionally making the network very mad at us,” he said.
“As long as I have nine months to make one hour of TV, I could do this forever,” Stephen Colbert added.
The comedian played a hardline conservative in his previous show, Comedy Central’s satirical news show The Colbert Report, but he appeared as himself for his mainstream debut.
Stephen Colbert presented his first guest George Clooney with a belated wedding gift for his marriage last year to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin – a Tiffany paperweight inscribed with the phrase: “I don’t know you.”
He also binged on a bag of Oreo cookies as he made jokes about Donald Trump, who recently vowed never to eat Oreos again after makers Nabisco Inc said it was opening a new plant in Mexico.
Fellow late-night TV figures also wished him well – including NBC rival Jimmy Fallon who said: “Have a good show, buddy. See you in the locker room.”
The broadcast ended with Stephen Colbert singing with his new house band, led by Jon Batiste, in a cover of Sly and the Family Stone’s Everyday People.
They were joined by Mavis Staples, Aloe Blacc, Ben Folds and Buddy Guy, amongst others.
In a recent interview with CBS’ Charlie Rose, George Clooney revealed that his proposal to Amal Alamuddin was a total surprise for the bride-to-be.
The 54-year-old actor said: “When I asked her, we had never talked about it, so it was all – there wasn’t like a, <<Maybe we should get married>>.
“Literally, I dropped it on her.”
He also revealed he had a little help popping the question from his late aunt, legendary singer Rosemary Clooney.
“I was at my home and I queued up a playlist of some of my aunt Rosemary’s songs and I asked, and she just kept saying, <<Oh my God>> and <<Wow>> – completely unexpected,” George Clooney said.
“And you know, I just said, I’m 53 at the time … <<I’ve been on my knee now for 28 minutes so I gotta get an answer out of this ’cause I’m gonna throw a hip out. I might not be able to stand back up>>.”

An Iranian court has ordered the closure of Mardom e-Emruz (Today’s People) newspaper after publishing a picture of George Clooney wearing a badge backing French magazine Charlie Hebdo, which was attacked last week.
The Mardom e-Emruz newspaper ran a picture of the actor headlined “I’m Charlie too”.
Conservative elements in Teheran were incensed by a catchphrase they regard as “anti-Islamic”.
Charlie Hebdo has published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, which many Muslims see as an offensive act.
The cover of Charlie Hebdo‘s latest edition, published after the attack in which 12 people were killed, featured a cartoon of the Prophet weeping while holding a sign saying “I am Charlie”.
Seven million copies of the edition are being printed in view of extraordinary demand, distributors announced on January 17.
“The court in charge of cultural affairs and the media imposed the ban on the newspaper for publishing a headline and a picture which it deemed insulting,”Mardom-e Emrouz director Ahmad Sattari told the Irna news agency.
The newspaper was only in its first month of publication, but that its political position was seen as close to that of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.
The court’s ruling is pending a final decision due later, but is unlikely to be overturned.

The actor added: “You know I had 10 great aunts and uncles on my father’s side, and six of them died of lung cancer. Rosemary [George Clooney’s aunt] died of lung cancer, too, and she had emphysema. Both of my grandparents died of lung cancer. So I got quite a lesson in the payback later in life of smoking, and if you keep it up how bad it can be. “
