Nicola Formichetti, the stylist who dressed Kim Kardashian for her recent fashion shoot in Elle magazine’s latest issue, has revealed how designers refused to lend the reality star their clothes.
Nicola Formichetti, 35, the stylist behind Lady Gaga’s masterful wardrobe, admitted that calling in high-end samples for Kim Kardashian posed “a challenge” for him.
“People wouldn’t lend me the clothes,” Nicola Formichetti explained to the magazine.
“But that’s fashion snobbery.”
Nicola Formichetti, who is the creative director of Mulgar and fashion director of Uniqlo, said he approached several designers who all declined in having their clothes worn by Kim Kardashian with “less-than-model-like-proportions”, as Elle described her five-foot-two-inch frame.
“She’s not the It Girl yet, but she will be,” he said.
Nicola Formichetti said the duo worked with what they were given, including several Tom Ford pieces, as well as Roberto Cavalli, and Victor and Rolf, and managed to put together several looks.

On Twitter on Thursday, Nicola Formichetti backed away from the remarks, claiming his words had been twisted.
“Taken out of context again..Working with @kimkardashian was amazing we had more than enough options for @ellemagazine !!” he wrote, adding that he was looking forward to working with Kim Kardashian again.
Kim Kardashian meanwhile gushed to the stylist in a behind-the-scenes video: “I love being transformed and I love, like your, vision of who you think I am. That’s always so inspiring to me and so interesting to see someone else’s take on me.”
She added that no matter what clothes Nicola Formichetti had to work with, most importantly he “understands a woman’s body”.
“When I work with someone that I really respect, I work with trust,” Kim Kardashian said to Nicola Formichetti.
“So even if I’m not comfortable in something; I trust, like, your vision to push me a little bit.”
However, Kim Kardashian admits she was “really nervous” to take part in the shoot as working with Formichetti was “just a dream come true”.

“I don’t have an entourage and I’m sick of my family right now and they’re my only entourage!

It appears that the signs of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise split were there six weeks before the actress revealed she was filing for divorce from her husband of five years.
In an interview conducted for an upcoming issue of America’s Elle magazine, Katie Holmes told the publication that she was entering a “new phase” of her life.
Talking about being in her 30s, Katie Holmes is quoted as saying: “I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out.
“I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”
It is worth noting that Katie Holmes seductively flashes her sheer black bra in an unbuttoned top – as she appears to be rebelling against reports that Tom controlled even her wardrobe choices.

Also in the interview, which took place in mid-May and appears in the magazine on sale on July 17th, Katie Holmes appeared to respond negatively to a question about being “Mrs. Tom Cruise”.
Katie Holmes, 33, said: “He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years. I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
And a source present at the interview told the New York Post that Katie Holmes didn’t appear to be happy in her relationship with Tom Cruise at the time.
The source said: “Katie didn’t speak about Tom in a lovey-dovey way at all. She deflected the Tom questions and brought them around to herself.”
Her interview with Elle took place six weeks before she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise on June 29th.
While the pair are now gearing up for a big divorce battle, as well as what is expected to be a bitter fight over custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri cruise, Katie Holmes yesterday reassured fans that she is coping following the split.
Approached as she stocked up on food at Whole Foods in Manhattan, Katie Holmes told a New York Daily News reporter: “I’m alright. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise, who has been kept busy shooting his latest movie Oblivion in Iceland, on Wednesday returned to Los Angeles where he marked his 50th birthday with a quiet lunch alongside adopted children Connor and Isabella Cruise.
Heidi Klum has finally broken her silence about the demise of her marriage to Seal in the April issue of Elle magazine.
Heidi Klum, 38, has likened the split to a tornado.
The supermodel says: “I feel like I’m in the eye of the tornado. It’s emotions inside of your body that are a tornado. And then the outside world doing all this craziness – with you wanting it or not wanting it – is another tornado.
“But as hard as it is, so is life. And sometimes I think a curve-ball just comes at you. Instead of something straight that you catch, it hits you in the head from the side that you didn’t expect.”
Heidi Klum admits that, though it appeared they had an idyllic, fairytale romance, their seven-year marriage was rife with problems that they tried to keep private.
She says: “To the outside world, you don’t really share all the things that happen. You kind of share just the most amazing sides.
“But I don’t really want to get into any of that stuff. With my life, my family, my business – I want to go forward.
“I feel like already there are so many things being said about us — about him, about me. I’m not going to comment.
“Otherwise it makes you angry. You can’t always call and say, ‘This is not true, but this part is true.”
Heidi Klum has finally broken her silence about the demise of her marriage to Seal in the April issue of Elle magazine
Seal, 49, has been airing the couple’s dirty laundry non-stop while promoting his latest album, and though Heidi Klum refuses to admit she’s angry, she does acknowledge that the situation is tough.
Heidi Klum says: “He’s a grown man. I can’t tell him what to do and what not to do. It’s hard.
“People don’t need to know who did what. I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had.
“Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there.”
Heidi Klum and Seal have four children together, and she wants to protect them.
The German model says: “I’m a lioness. I have four cubs. I’m a mom. I want to take care of my kids and protect them. I don’t want to talk about them, or him, or me.”
She adds that the separation has caused her endless amounts of pain, saying: “I’m not a robot. I’m not made of stone.”
Heidi Klum and Seal announced their split in late January after seven years of marriage.
Seal spoke out two days after announcing the split.
The singer said: “I think we were shocked. You go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say <<I do>> and you say <<Till death do us part>>.
“Those vows hold value. They are not just words.
“These things happen. The thing that I’m most proud about is this great woman who I married – and I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart – is that together she has given me four incredible gifts, four beautiful children.”
