Dita Von Teese turns 41 today but she is not afraid of her age.

With her powder-pale face, blood-red lips and dark, cascading hair, the burlesque star looks as though she stepped out of one of Bram Stoker’s fantasies.

Dita Von Teese appeared on Vanity Fair’s 2013 Best Dressed list alongside Kate Middleton, Gisele and Kerry Washington. The magazine claimed she was the antidote to a Girls Gone Wild generation and described her as “a curvaceous, alabaster-skinned, immaculately coiffed stripper with a fondness for retro fashions and the attention to detail to do it right.” She has been a featured guest on America’s Next Top Model, celebrated on the cover of Playboy, modeled in haute fashion shows for Jean Paul Gaultier and starred in a MAC Cosmetics campaign.

Dita Von Teese, who is bringing her show Strip, Strip Hooray to the Gramercy Theater from September 30 to October 4, is renowned for being one of the most beautiful and stylish women in the world.

Dita Von Teese danced to a sold out crowd at the House of Blues in Los Angeles last Friday during her show, the aptly named Strip Strip Hooray!

One of Dita Von Teese’s most covered-up ensembles consisted of a menswear-inspired tuxedo shirt, black trousers and top hat.

Then she revealed a jewel-encrusted bustier, and the dancers knelt beside her wore sparkling black halters.

In perhaps one of her most stunning costumes of the evening, Dita Von Teese’s 22-inch waist was cinched by a glittering red corset.

Plumes of red feathers followed her in a train, and glamorous elbow-length cloves covered her arms.

Dita Von Teese also changed into a cowgirl getup that had her in a sparkling gown with a matching hat and boots.

Marks and Spencer has launched the “Perky Profile” bra to help shoppers get Dita Von Teese’s look for less.

M&S aims to give breasts a retro cone shape thanks to specially constructed padding.

The bra, which is available in Dita esque black and pink, as well as a ladylike cream, will, say M&S, give you a “push out” rather than a push up profile.

Soozie Jenkinson, Head of Lingerie Design at M&S says: “Modern day celebrities like Dita Von Teese have championed this glamorous retro forties style.

“The perfect underpinnings are essential in achieving this look, which is why we launched our Perky Profile bra which projects the bust giving you a fuller, more pronounced shape for the ultimate Sweater Girl look.

“This lingerie innovation uses a completely new cup shape creating a higher bust point giving a more stand out shape.

Paschal Little, head of lingerie innovation at M&S added: “The unique and innovative smoothing cups have been engineered with extra projection at the bust point providing a modern silhouette which emulates glamour icons from the 1940’s Hollywood era.

“This gives a great new shape under this season’s <<New Look>> silhouette.”

Although the perky profile bra and drop a dress size dress have been grabbing most of the headlines, they aren’t the only body enhancing pieces to have arrived at M&S in recent months.

Other new additions to the brand’s output include the “no gap shirt” which has a hidden placket and an extra button to ensure that you never flash your bra again.

Also proving popular is the new Light as Air bra, which weighs just 39 grams – a whopping 11 grams less than the average bra.

With no padding and made using new moulding techniques, the bra gives a smooth shape without adding weight.

“The ultra light weight and breathable materials used in our Light as Air bra [were] developed to keep you cool and comfortable in the warmer months,” added Little.

“We have incorporated an airy, open work channel below the cup to increase the feeling of coolness, comfort and airflow through the garment.

“This modern concept bra is neither padded nor non padded, but is molded to give you a feminine shape with definition.”

4. A fabulous head piece

5. A basic burlesque class with a real burlesque star

You can have this one for free at London’s Moulin Rouge: The Wam Bam Club at Cafe de Paris. Free burlesque classes run every Saturday before the show.

Dita Von Teese is the biggest name in the burlesque scene thanks in part to her stunning raven hair and porcelain complexion, but before her rise to fame, she was a tanned and bottle blonde all American girl.

Dita Von Teese, 40, tweeted a handful of pictures from her high school yearbook.

“Found a box of photos of me from my freshman and sophomore year in high school,” she tweeted her fans along with the snaps.

In the photos, Dita, born Heather Renee Sweet in Rochester, Michigan, has big Eighties bleach blonde hair and a penchant for the era’s fashion.

In one particular image of Dita in her younger years, she bares her midriff in a black bralet top which she pairs with voluminous parachute trousers and a matching jacket.

Her look is very reminiscent to that of Jennie Garth’s when she played Kelly Taylor in the hit TV series, Beverly Hills 90210.

Her skin tone is also very tanned, several hues darker than her current alabaster complexion.

These days Dita Von Teese stays away from the sun, recently explaining: “Alabaster skin is the perfect base for a vintage look. I’d never dream of getting a tan – I always wear sunscreen and put on a hat when I’m out in the sun.”

Back to her vintage snaps, and a very blonde Dita Von Teese is also photographed in two prom dresses.

Far from the stunning couture and vintage dresses she wears these days, her formal wear for her younger years is a poofy and frilly lavender creation which she pairs with a floral crown in her hair.

In another snap, Dita Von Teese then steers towards black velvet accessorized with pearls.

In all of the photographs it is clear that Dita Von Teese used to go for the more pared back appearance when it came to her make-up.

It is a far cry from her current look – her visage always completely made up with dark eyebrows, heavy black eyeliner and bright red lips.

Two years ago Dita Von Teese even told the New York Times Style magazine that she uses Just For Men hair dye to achieve raven eyebrows.

Dita Von Teese these days isn’t a fan of the all natural look, and the high maintenance star recently admitted that the number of beauty products that she uses regularly goes in to the hundreds.

The burlesque queen admitted she is such a beauty junkie that she couldn’t live without any of the multiple cosmetics and haircare products which she uses to achieve her glamorous retro look.

Dita Von Teese recently admitted that the number of beauty products that she uses regularly goes in to the hundreds.

Dancer Dita Von Teese, born Heather Renée Sweet in Rochester, Michigan, has admitted she is such a beauty junkie that she couldn’t live without any of the multiple cosmetics and haircare products which she uses to achieve her glamorous retro look.

Asked what her three must-have items are, Dita Von Teese giggled: “Three? Oh my god, it’s more like 300! If you only knew, I have a lot of things that I absolutely can’t do without.

“Even for my shows, I do everything by myself, from make-up to choosing my own outfits.”

However, Dita Von Teese, 40, believes make-up can only go so far and the only way to exude s** appeal is to have confidence in yourself.

She explained: “For me, s** appeal is a very individual thing, it’s about finding yourself above all and mostly about having self-confidence. We have to find what suits us and makes us feel good.

“It’s all about being s**y, it’s nothing to do with what people think – on the contrary. It’s completely psychological.

“I love the process of getting ready, both in terms of hair as well as make-up. With only three things, I’d have a lot of trouble getting ready!”

Two years ago Dita Von Teese told the New York Times Style magazine that she uses Just For Men hair dye to achieve raven eyebrows, and also that perfect skin hasn’t come easy.

She spoke about how she visited several doctors in a bit to cure her rosacea, revealing: “I was told by a big name dermatologist, <<this is your life now>>, because he couldn’t figure out how to get rid of it.

“A million creams later, I went to a real skin doctor in Orange County. He prescribed a pill and one lotion, and boom, it was gone.”

Creme de la Mer is her choice of face cream – “it’s pricey, but so worth it”.

Her favorite beauty products include Dior Capture Totale foundation, MAC Mineralize face powder, Dior Dolce Vita lipstick, Guerlain Divinora liquid eyeliner and Dior Show mascara.

Dita Von Teese’s top tip for feeling good is adorning herself in a tasteful amount of jewels, and she especially loves rubies because they are so “sensual”.

She explained in an interview with French fashion website Pure Trend: “It’s true that I like jewellery, but I wear just the right amount to emphasize the statement piece I choose. I like diamonds but my real favorite has always been rubies.

“At the moment for instance, I’m wearing ruby earrings. I love touching them, playing with them, it’s a very sensual stone.”

Dita Von Teese has also said she relies on pink lights and a dimmer switch to banish cellulite, citing “it’s the only thing that works”.

Dita Von Teese arrived late at her new fragrance Rouge launch event at Fred Segal.

When she was about to put on her vintage Thierry Mugler suit-dress on Saturday, Dita Von Teese found her cat Aleister contentedly napping on the designer dress.

“Slightly late to my perfume event at Fred Segal because this happened to my freshly pressed vintage Mugler suit,” the gorgeous 40-year-old tweeted to her 1.2 million followers.

The candid snap revealed the fashion culprit – her seven-year-old feline – but thankfully Devon Rexes are known for shedding less of their Poodle-style fur than regular cats.

The real-life pin-up, born Heather Renée Sweet, turned up to Fred Segal looking polished and did not appear to show any sign of the furry incident.

Dita Von Teese was her usual flawless self, impeccably dressed in the retro LBD with sheer Victorian-style ruffled neckline.

Her black-dotted sheer bodice matched perfectly with her pantyhose and she accessorized her perfume launch look with a small clutch and matching Louboutins.

Dita Von Teese’s raven hair was side-parted with big barrel curls and she sported the usual cat-eye make-up and scarlet lips on her pale complexion.

Rouge is her second fragrance after her self-titled debut, and it includes “accords of orange, bergamot, pink pepper, smoked Lapsang Souchong tea, magnolia, woody tones, and raw amber”.

The Queen of Burlesque, who once performed wearing nothing but $5 million worth of diamonds, kept her famous curves were kept under wrap.

However, Dita Von Teese tweeted her plans for performing more of her Strip Strip Hooray Shows in New York and Los Angeles soon.

In order to stay in shape, the gorgeous brunette reportedly uses her vegetarian diet and daily sessions of Pilates and sex.

The daring designer also recently launched a vintage-inspired dress and a lingerie collection called Von Follies in Australia and America.

The dancer told Refinery 29: “The dress collection is comprised of pieces that are all based on the things in my vintage collection that I believe are timeless.

“Some of the dresses are based on favorite vintage pieces that I’ve worn over and over for 12 years, and that’s a testament to a dress that transcends trends.”

Dita Von Teese, who used to be married to singer Marilyn Manson, has also dated actor Peter Sarsgaard and Mike Ness of the punk band Social Distortion.

Not seen Saturday was her last known boyfriend of three years, Count Louis-Marie De Castelbajac, a French actor and fashion designer.

Striking red lipsticks, flawless skin and retro glamour were all over the fashion week catwalks.

Here, pin-up Dita Von Teese, who’s just launched her own make-up collection, tells you how to get the look…

 1. Alabaster skin is the perfect base for a vintage look. I’d never dream of getting a tan – I always wear sunscreen and put on a hat when I’m out in the sun.

2. Classic red lipstick is the most chic beauty statement a women can make. Matte lips are like luscious rose petals. Add just a touch of gloss to the centre.

3. In the Thirties and Forties, leaving the half-moon at the bottom of your nail was the epitome of elegance. It has now become modern and chic again.

4. For a dramatic look, I start with a neutral lid, define a line of black shadow in the crease. Finish with a sparkling white on your brow bone and eyelid.

5. I always powder my nose using pressed powder in an exquisite, jewelled compact. They are hard to find, but Estee Lauder does wonderful ones at Christmas.
