New reports claim Kanye West thinks Vogue could benefit from putting baby North in its prestigious fashion pages.

Much like Suri Cruise’s famous Vanity Fair cover, the music icon wants his two-month old daughter to meet world on his terms – something he reportedly believes could be mutually beneficial to Anna Wintour.

“It’s no secret that Kanye is a huge fan of fashion, Vogue and especially Anna Wintour,” a source close to Kanye West told RadarOnline.

“But it’s also pretty well-known that Anna is no fan of Kim, or any reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine.”

The source continued: “Kanye is determined to make sure baby North isn’t photographed by paparazzi then splashed across the world.

“He knows what he wants — a professional photographer and the cover of Vogue – nothing else. But clearly, trying to persuade Anna is going to be an uphill battle.”

While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expected to release the first photos of North West via Twitter, the rapper apparently wants her first ever photo shoot to be in Vogue – and it seems the Grammy-winning artist isn’t taking no for an answer, despite receiving a “less than enthusiastic” response from Anna Wintour.

Ensuring that he has every aspect of his argument covered, Kanye West has reportedly compiled new fashion magazine statistics that show reality stars on the cover can make sales soar.

According to the New York Times, the April issue of Cosmopolitan magazine featuring Kim Kardashian was its best-selling, with 1.2 million copies being plucked from newsstands.

And last year, Kim Kardashian scored high-fashion points when she graced the cover of the L’Uomo Vogue, the magazine’s Italian men’s edition.

But that issue’s success might not be enough to sway Anna Wintour to give the West-Kardashain family an American Vogue cover.

Three months ago Vogue editors famously cropped Kim Kardashain out of its Met Ball Best Dressed gallery when she appeared next to a Sauvé looking Kanye West wearing a universally mocked floral print Givenchy gown.

Nevertheless, it seems “Kanye is convinced that he’s going to make this happen”, said the source.

A Vogue spokesperson denied the claims.

Meanwhile it seems Kim Kardashian, who has only posted a few tweets and made one taped appearance on Kris Jenner’s show since giving birth on June 15, has sent her hardworking public relations representative on a hiatus.

The New York Post reported that Kim Kardashian has no need for publicist, Jill Fritzo, now that she is busy with North.

After Kim Kardashian’s Givenchy floral curtain-inspired Met Ball gown was slated by fashion critics, now Vogue have taken the critique one step further by cropping the reality star out of their best dressed gallery.

Vogue.com collated a glamorous slideshow of the event’s 77 best dressed guests which, unsurprisingly, did not include Kim Kardashian.

It did, however, include her boyfriend Kanye West who, like Kim Kardashian, was decked head to toe in Givenchy.

Vogue hailed Kanye West for his exemplary sartorial prowess – but very deliberately cropped his pregnant girlfriend from the shot – and did not include her elsewhere.

The only evidence that Kim Kardashian was there on the night is a flash of floral and a disembodied arm linking with Kanye West’s to the left of the frame.

Kanye West’s photo is cropped notably slimmer than the rest and, to add further salt to the wound, all other couples, such as Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods, remain intact in their slides.

Vogue may not have been impressed by Kim Kardashian floral faux pas – but the designer behind the top-to-toe look, Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, defended the look to WWD, saying: “I think she looked amazing.

“She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career.”

The Givenchy creative chief has long been friends with Kanye West and said he chose the look for the pregnant star because, “when you celebrate something, you give people flowers”.

And the look was all his idea.

“[She] said, <<Ricky, I love what you’re doing so much, I am in your hands>>.”

According to a report by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), the magazines featuring Taylor Swift on the cover in 2012 sold less than those displaying less well known celebrities such as Lauren Conrad and Zooey Deschanel.

Taylor Swift cut a glamorous sight on the covers of Vogue, Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar last year, following the October release of her hugely successful album Red.

The report, by the Alliance for Audited Media, examined sales of the high end women’s monthly magazines in 2012.

Taylor Swift’s Vogue cover in February 2012 sold a solid 329,371 – a little over the magazine’s six month average – but the star was outsold to a large degree by Lady Gaga whose cover appearance moved almost double – shifting 602,000 copies.

However, Lady Gaga’s appearance in a pink gown and hair raising wig featured on the magazine’s September issue, which traditionally sells more.

Adele’s March cover also beat Taylor Swift, selling 410,343, and providing Vogue with its second best seller in 2012.

Although Taylor Swift performed acceptably for Glamour‘s November issue, selling 443,000 copies, she failed to beat Lauren Conrad who proved the year’s “runaway best seller” for the brand with a little over 500,000, while Victoria Beckham’s September edition moved an impressive 482,000.

Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive told WWD that she believed Taylor Swift’s relationship troubles with One Direction star Harry Styles could have caused her low sales.

“There may have been a little hiccup for her right around the 1-D relationship,” she said.

“But it’s nothing a pro can’t come back from. I’d put money on her for the long run.”

Taylor Swift was also Cosmopolitan magazine’s worst seller of the entire year, with her December cover selling 20% below the six-month average for the magazine.

Scarlett Johansson was Cosmopolitan‘s top performing star, with 1.5 million readers interested in an interview with the Lost in Translation star, with Scarlett discussing what she finds attractive in a man.

Even Ashley Greene outsold Taylor Swift, with the Twilight actress ranking second in the year’s sales.

All this despite Taylor Swift, who appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in December and Elle magazine in February 2013, usually giving good value in interviews.

She made headlines for her Vanity Fair interview for April in which she appears on the cover, where she criticizes Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Gwen Stefani also beat Taylor Swift’s Harper’s Bazaar total of 138,412 copies, despite the No Doubt singer having a poor year in record sales.

Celebrities who performed well for the magazines in general include Katy Perry who sold best for Elle and Jennifer Aniston for In Style.

Kate Middleton’s cover was the top selling issue for Vanity Fair, with model Kate Moss also scoring well for Harper’s Bazaar and W magazine.

Rihanna has defended her decision to spend time with Chris Brown in a new interview for the November issue of Vogue, in which she also poses in a stunning photo shoot, captured by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

In her accompanying interview with the fashion bible, Rihanna explains that outsiders have not yet seen how her relationship with Chris Brown has changed since that fateful day three years ago.

“The world hasn’t let go. They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything,” she said.

“But they’re not on the inside. They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view. I guess I’ll learn to accept that.”

This is Rihanna’s second Vogue shoot and cover.

For the April 2011 cover of the magazine, Rihanna looked stunning in a mermaid inspired and figure hugging gown.

This time, Rihanna, 24, is red-hot in a strapless scarlet lace red dress, and is sporting her haircut de jour, a short pixie crop.

In inside shots, Rihanna poses in a field of wheat wearing a similar scarlet dress, provocatively stretching out as she relaxes in the great outdoors.

In another snap, the desert dust blows up the skirt of her stunning black Haute Couture leather and lace gown, which she pairs with sheer mesh fingerless gloves.

Rihanna was clearly excited by her second Vogue cover, tweeting on Saturday: “Mama I made it! Here’s #2.”

Rihanna’s quotes to Vogue come as it was recently revealed that she will go public with Chris Brown following the release of her next album, Unapologetic.

A source told gossip site HollywoodLife: “She is hitting the studio real hard these days, but talks to Chris every step of the way.

“As soon as she finishes up with this album, they will be out. She’s gotta focus and get that album together and stay paid.

“She’s tied up and busy with the album, but she makes time for Chris late nights. She did one night before – I think, like, Tuesday. I’m not sure but I know she saw him this week.”

Speculation has been rife that the pair are back together, especially after they were spotted cuddling up to one another at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn at the beginning of October.

Chris Brown has since split up with his girlfriend Karreuche Tran, seemingly to make way for his relationship with Rihanna.

In the same breath, Rihanna told Vogue that she wanted to date a “ballsy” man.

In her interview, presumably conducted before her recent reconciliation with Chris Brown, Rihanna also bemoaned about her lack of a love life and said that she wished a guy would pluck up the courage to approach her because she just wants to have fun on a date.

She said: “I would love to go on a date. You don’t think that? I’m a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun.

“No one asks. Trust me on that. I’m waiting for the man who’s ballsy enough to deal with me. And I have too many vaginas around me at this point!”

Rihanna revealed that confidence and a sense of humor are the main qualities she looks for in a man.

“Seriously, all I want is a guy to take me out and make me laugh for a good hour and take my ass back home,” she said.

“He doesn’t even have to come up. All I want is a conversation for an hour.”

Rihanna doesn’t mind waiting for her dream man to come along and says she won’t settle for second best.

Rihanna explained: “I’m going to wait, though. You always find the wrong s**t when you go looking.”

Lady Gaga’s perfume first glimpse has been leaked by a Canadian fashion editor via Twitter.

Lisa Tant, the editor in chief of Canadian fashion magazine Flare, tweeted an image of the bottle, set to hit stores in August, along with its much-anticipated name and scent notes.

For over two years Lady Gaga, 26, has been publicly teasing her fans with small bites of information about the rumored perfume, which in 2010 was reported to smell like “blood and semen”, and now Lisa Tant has clarified details.

Originally thought to be called Monster, the editor revealed the fragrance will be called Fame, and, in Lady Gaga’s words, will actually “smell like an expensive hooker”.

Originally thought to be called Monster, Lisa Tant revealed the fragrance will be called Fame, and, in Lady Gaga's words, will actually “smell like an expensive hooker”

Lisa Tant quoted Lady Gaga, allegedly at a press preview for the perfume, tweeting: “It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it’s a sense of having me on your skin.

“I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that’s where [the rumors] came from.

“That is in the perfume, but it doesn’t smell like that. Actually, the perfume smells like an expensive hooker.”

The fragrance appears to be a black liquid that reportedly changes color when applied to skin.

Lisa Tant has since taken down the image and quote from her Twitter account, for unknown reasons.

Lady Gaga is also tipped to cover Vogue‘s famed September issue for 2012, to coincide with the perfumes official launch.

Her last cover for the magazine was in March 2011.
