Fabian Zanzi sues John Travolta for assault

Fabian Zanzi, a sailor who accused John Travolta of sexual harassment, is now suing the star for assault.

Fabian Zanzi is claiming the incident occurred when he worked as a room service operator for Royal Caribbean International in 2009 and made a delivery to the actor’s stateroom.

The sailor alleges John Travolta asked for a neck massage, and that when he reached over to comply the 58-year-old actor dropped his robe and exposed his erect penis.

According to TMZ, Fabian Zanzi says he was then forcefully embraced by the actor, who told him he was “beautiful” and “take me, I will take care of you, please”.

Fabian Zanzi, a Chilean-born worker, who is suing for unspecified damages, says he resisted, and then John Travolta offered him $12,000 to keep silent.

It previously emerged he never mentioned many of the details when he went to cruise ship management to complain, and he now claims they refused to allow him to write any details regarding nudity or sexual contact.

John Travolta’s lawyer Marty Singer drew attention to this in a strongly worded statement.

Marty Singer said: “This is another ludicrous lawsuit with inane claims. It is obvious that Mr. Zanzi and his lawyers are looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

“The lawsuit’s ridiculous claims are completely contradicted by what Mr. Zanzi told his employer back in 2009 when he was being disciplined for his own violations of company policy.

“In his handwritten report three years ago, the only physical contact he claimed occurred was allegedly touching my client’s neck.

“The inappropriate conduct he alleges in his lawsuit is absent from his written report he submitted at the time. That glaring omission speaks volumes.

“Also calling his credibility into question is his dubious allegation that his employer supposedly restrained him in a room on the cruise ship for five days, yet after that supposedly occurred, Mr. Zanzi continued to work for Royal Caribbean for years, on multiple ships.

“Now, after waiting three years, and after getting paid to tell his story to the media, Mr. Zanzi has filed this absurd lawsuit.

“We are confident that my client will prevail on the merits and that he will be completely vindicated in court.”

Marty Singer was referring to an employee discipline form where it is stated Fabian Zanzi admitted to superiors at Royal Caribbean International he rubbed the actor’s neck, but turned down his request that he return later.

Crucially, though, it makes no mention of the room service operator’s later claims John Travolta hugged him while naked before asking for a rub down.

In the 2009 document, it says: “According to his own statement, Fabian proceeded to a guest stateroom to deliver a room service order as instructed by his supervisor.

“While in the stateroom the guest invited Fabian to take a seat to talk for a few minutes. Fabian accepted the offer and sat for a few minutes.

“When he stood up to leave the stateroom the guest asked him to give him a neck massage.

“Fabian clearly stated that he did so shortly and then told the guest he needed to leave.”

But this was not the end of the encounter, for he was then allegedly given a shock proposal by the unnamed guest, which the celebrity website confirmed was John Travolta.

It states: “According to Fabian, the guest then told him he was a beautiful person and invited him to return to visit him later that night.

“Fabian explained that he couldn’t do so due to the strict company policy and despite the fact that the guest insisted, he left the room.”

The report states the room service operator was given a written warning for his antics, and the fact he reported the incident to his superiors resulted in a less serious punishment.

It says that “by accepting to take a seat and to offer the guest a neck massage the crew member failed to reinforce the company policy and put an end to the situation”.

It also emerged the steward was not fired over the incident, and in fact resigned on May 18, 2011, two years after the alleged incident.

A rep for Royal Caribbean said: “Fabian Zanzi worked for Royal Caribbean International from October 2003 until May 2011 on various ships.

“In June 2009, Mr. Zanzi was working as a Room Service Phone Operator onboard Enchantment of the Seas.”

It emerged last week John Travolta has been targeted in a new lawsuit amid claims he smeared the reputation of an author trying to sell a book exposing seedy details about his alleged sexual exploits with spa workers.

Robert Randolph alleges John Travolta and his attorney Marty Singer made false claims about his mental health in a bid to bring the writer’s credibility into question.

He is suing both the actor and his lawyer for unspecified damages.

Robert Randolph, in his book You’ll Never Spa in This Town Again, made explosive claims he witnessed John Travolta engaged in sexual intercourse with other men at various bathhouses.

He also claimed he was also sexually involved with John Travolta.

The writer claims as the book was coming out, John Travolta and Marty Singer made false public allegations that he had spent time in a mental institution and was not a reliable source. Robert Randolph claims the PR tactic proved successful and retailers were put off from putting his work on shelves.

A rep for John Travolta released a statement saying the suit was “absurd”.

“The lawsuit filed by Robert Randolph is absurd. The suit is based on a privileged communication, and it will promptly be thrown out by the court.

“To evaluate the credibility of Robert Randolph and his ridiculous lawsuit one need look no further than his own statements published on his website stating that he sustained <<permanent brain damage>> and had to <<retrain>> his brain.

“Mr. Travolta will aggressively defend himself against this lawsuit and expects to be fully vindicated when this meritless case is dismissed.”

Marty Singer added in another statement that he and his client intend to sue.

He said: ”This is a ridiculous lawsuit. It is based on our letter which was completely privileged under the law.

“We intend to sue the attorneys for malicious prosecution after the court promptly dismisses this baseless lawsuit.”

Robert Randolph’s suit follows a string of sordid claims about John Travolta’s sexual orientation.

New reports suggest former pilot Doug Gotterba is “considering” writing a tell-all book about their alleged six-year affair in the Eighties – before the actor’s marriage to Kelly Preston in 1991.

The simmering scandal heated up last month, when John Travolta was hit with two lawsuits from masseurs claiming the actor made sexual advances towards them during massages – but one claim was later withdrawn.

Despite various other people coming out of the woodwork making similar claims. John Travolta has not addressed the allegations directly but his legal team has strenuously denied them.

John Travolta, 58, has been honouring promotional duties for his first movie since 2010: Savages – an Oliver Stone film about a war between marijuana growers and a Mexican drug cartel, even though he is not considered one of the film’s lead actors.
