Jenna Lee Thomas, the weather forecaster of news station WJBF in Augusta, Georgia, got the surprise of a lifetime last week when her boyfriend proposed during a live broadcast.

Jenna Lee Thomas was doing the five-day forecast when her boyfriend, Eric Wright, entered the studio and popped the question.

Eric Wright got in touch with weekend anchor Jillian Benfield last month about his plans, which involved the entire WJBF production crew.

The fiancé hid in the bathroom as producers waited for the right moment for him to ambush Jenna Lee Thomas.

The couple will be married in August 2012.

They met earlier this year during an event at Jenna Lee Thomas’ church in Augusta.

Eric Wright told the station that he will be moving to the area next year, where he will be an emergency room doctor at a nearby hospital.

Jenna Lee Thomas has been handling the weekend weather reports at the ABC affiliate since January.

On her Twitter account, Jenna Lee Thomas thanked her colleagues and the WJBF viewers for the outpouring of congratulatory messages.
